new painting – Gottschalkenberg, New Year’s Day

Gottschalkenberg, New Year's Day
Gottschalkenberg, New Year’s Day (acrylic, 40 x 80cm)

Well, that took awhile.

The paint-over is now complete. I will leave to you decide if you like it or not. Myself, I am ambivalent – mostly out of weariness from having to look at it. While I still maintain the re-do was a good thing, it really sucks the joy out of the process. So I will hang this up somewhere, give it a few weeks, and decide then how I feel about it. In the meanwhile maybe I will go outside and enjoy some real winter, instead of just painting it. I hope you are getting to do the same…

Keep warm and thanks for looking!

It looks great. Nice to see that the ugly paint baby turned into such a fine specimen. 😀

Peggy I would say the end product was well worth the pain. It’s simply amazing to look at. I love your style and this represents your art very well.
