new painting – path to finstersee falls

Hello there,

Another new painting to add to the gallery. This scene was taken from a Sunday family walk to local Finstersee falls. As you can see, it is like autumn has thrown up on a canvas. I had to force myself to put my brushes away and just let it be. It is freeing, however, to allow oneself to be comfortable in abstraction and do away with “real” palettes for awhile. Good thing I have had my fill with the fall colours too, as winter has come to this part of the world. As I write this and glance out my window, all I can see is white. Maybe if the fog and snowfall retreat this weekend I will go on a photo expedition for my first winter theme…

Stay warm, my friends – HD

Looks great! We don’t have any snow in Basel, so when you need a break from the white stuff come visit us.

Or vice versa… we had our first ski day this morning at a local hill… actually – don’t expect it to last….

What won’t last the snow or the skiing?
