It really has been a long time since I have been here. And not just “not here” here. I also haven’t been painting and haven’t been hiking. I just simply have not felt like it and am only just recovering from the lethargy of summer vacation and the upheaval of a new school year. I guess that is also part of being an “amateur” though. A “pro” forces herself to work at her craft even when she has a million excuses or simply does not feel like it.  Thats right – I own my own laziness and have a whole season of stymied growth (and more than a few extra pounds) to show for it. Its all good though. I am back and feeling motivated. It is, after all, autumn – my very favourite time of the year that makes me itch to get outside AND pick up my camera and paint brush.

So if there is anyone out there that missed my posts and wondered if i have given up for good just keep posted! Good things (weekend wanders, paintings, Switzerland photos, odds and ends) are to come!
